About Anastasia

I didn't set out to write a book about spirituality.
I set out to understand why human beings suffer.
For most of my life, I believed what many of us believe: that fulfillment lived somewhere in the future. If I worked harder, achieved more, became more successful, or finally became the person I imagined I should be, lasting peace would eventually arrive.
So I pursued that life.
I immigrated to the United States from post-Soviet Kazakhstan as a child, earned my law degree, built a successful estate planning and asset protection law firm, became a wife, a mother of three beautiful children, and an entrepreneur. From the outside, my life looked exactly as I had hoped it would.
Yet beneath every achievement remained a quiet question:

Why am I still searching?
That question became the defining inquiry of my life.
Over the years, I immersed myself in philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, comparative religion, and the non-dual traditions of Advaita Vedānta and Dzogchen Buddhism. I wasn't looking for comforting beliefs—I was looking for something that could withstand careful questioning. Something that made sense not only spiritually, but logically.
Then, at the age of thirty-six, something unexpected happened.
The identity I had spent decades constructing began to dissolve.
It wasn't a physical death. It was the collapse of the deeply held belief that I was the separate person I had always taken myself to be.
What remained was not another philosophy or belief system, but a direct recognition that awareness itself had never been born and therefore could never die.
That realization became the foundation of How I Died at Age 36 but Will Live Forever.
Today, my work explores the intersection of consciousness, non-duality, science, psychology, and practical living. I believe awakening is not about escaping ordinary life—it is about finally seeing it clearly.
As an estate planning attorney, I help families prepare for death.
As an author and teacher, I explore what cannot die.
To me, these are not separate callings. They are two expressions of the same love: reducing unnecessary suffering and helping people live more consciously, love more deeply, and leave this world with greater clarity than they found it.
If you've found your way here, perhaps you're asking the same question that changed my life:
Who am I, really?
I hope we explore it together.
